Divya College of Education derives its name from a well known Sanskrit syllable "Divya" which means a spring of light meant to eliminate darkness, ignorance, backwardness and to lead towards enlightenment.
The College represents its objective: "OM" which occupies the central place in the emblem. It is considered to be the greatest of all the mantras of sacred formulas. "OM" represents several important triads, the three worlds of earth, atmosphere and heaven; the three major Hindu Gods-Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and the three sacred Vedic scriptures-Rigveda, Yajurveda and Samaveda. Thus "OM" mystically embodies the essence of the entire universe. These are the ideals and objectives of the DIVYA College of Education to spread light of education to whole of the community through teaching-learning process.
The College started functioning at Miran Sahib in the year 1998 but soon shifted to its present spacious premises in 1999 at Lower Gadigarh-a suburb of Jammu located about 2 kms away from Jammu Airport on R.S. Pura Road. It is about 5 kms from Jammu Railway Station and 7 kms from main Bus Stand. The College campus is spread over a land measuring more than 45 kanals in eco-friendly surroundings. It has a spacious lush green cco-friendly environment
